The difference between a pageant and an event?

If you are setting up an entry in our directory for a pageant, the information below is for you!

Our database is set up to show pageants and events separate. The pageant is the main entry (i.e. Miss Universe) It provides the basic information about that pageant that does not change... history, former titleholders, rules of entry, etc.

Under the pageant, events (i.e. Miss Universe 1999) can be created to provide history about that specific year of competition (i.e. location, contestants, who was there, who sponsored the event, photo galleries, etc.)

Tips:

A pageant should not have a year in the title. 

If the pageant awards multiple titles, the event should not include the title but should refer to the whole competition.
